Anonymous asked: I am at the point in my life were I am unmotivated to do anything. I try everything in school to get good grades. I go to tutoring, I ask for help, I look on the web for extra help, yet I'm still unsuccessful.I'm at the point were I feel like giving up on school and just get my GED in a year or so. As a junior in high school I have the pressures of what college I'm going to go to and so on. It's just a difficult time for me. What motivates you? What is your advice for gaining motivation?

Hello! I know how you feel anon haha. It happens. Don’t beat yourself up too hard about it. What’s your definition of success? And also, don’t give up. In life, there are either winners or quitters. Don’t fall into the second category. Keep at it anon. You only have 2 more years left! You got this :) My advice for motivation? Find a why. Find a reason why you’re doing something that will be bigger than any obstacle/hardship you’ll have to overcome. Write a list of your dreams/goals/why’s and keep reminding yourself every day, especially when times are tough. For example, my ‘whys’ to do well in high school, was to be able to get into a good university, get paid to go to school (scholarships), make my parents proud, design viruses for Apple products (lol; I was a comp. sci major), and have a career that would pay me at least 6 figures. So, whenever I would slack off/when times are tough/etc., I would look at my list and know that there are bigger things out there, and that the situation I’m in at that moment will just be temporary and won’t stop me from achieving that awesome future. If your ‘why’ is big enough, your ‘how to’ will become easier. High school, I graduated with a 4.3 GPA weighted, top 20 in my class, got my millennium scholarship ($10k scholarship), didn’t have to pay for my first year of my university, and got several recognitions with clubs I was active in. I’m not saying this to brag, but I’m telling you that I was in your position. I know exactly how you feel. But I kept my self grounded, focused on my dreams and goals, and just worked, worked, worked. SO, my advice, make a list of your dreams/goals/etc. If anything, make a dream board of pictures of the lifestyle you want to live in the future! Just focus on the right things! You got this anon! Get out there and wreck shop! :)
